Volunteering
- Volunteering in Childrens home in Ivano-Frankivsk
Throughout the whole year, there is an opportunity to help with the running of the children’s home in Mercy Town in the town of Ivano-Frankivsk in western Ukraine. The runs, usually in the form of two-week voluntary stays, include cleaning, cooking, helping with the running of the home, caring and playing with the children.
- The Ivano-Frankivsk region is one of the calmest areas in the current Ukrainian crisis; however, safety must be paid attention to more than ever. Departure is at your own risk.
- Transport at your own expense: by car, bus or train.
- Accommodation and meals provided free of charge on site; we recommend leaving the sisters a food allowance.
-
Basic information:
- The journey is arranged and paid for by the volunteers themselves, with suitable transport being, for example, a bus or a train.
- Before the journey it is also imperative to arrange health insurance to Ukraine and to sign a volunteer contract – see “How to become a volunteer”.
- Volunteering is a non-profit activity, but meals and accommodation are provided during your stay.
-
How to become a volunteer:
- If you wish to become a volunteer, contact us or simply send us your CV suggesting the date of your stay in Ukraine to the e-mail address veronika.mechova@dchoo.charita.cz.
- After an arrangement with the coordinator, a contract will be signed and your criminal record and copy of your insurance will be delivered abroad.
- Without such due process you CANNOT depart.
